Happy St. Bucket’s Day, everyone

I sadly won’t have time to do what I had planned, so I’ll hopefully do them a few days later. Not today though

St. Bucket’s Day is tomorrow

• Access ISEEAMONKEY using the window

You first considered using the secret tunnels under the Guest Rooms, but Zador’s the bomb could very well be timed as well. You quickly think of an alternate way.

You run out of the building using the door exit at BAAT. You circle around the building to the left and spot an open window high above you… How will you reach it?

• Have a closer look at Not-So-Pink Shuriken

You inspect the shuriken. It seems to be a Hira-shuriken (renamed). A hole is located in the center of it.

Hmm, perhaps you could tie it to something like… a rope.

Sadly you’ve been looking for a rope this whole time, so you really don’t have one. Desperate, you look around the boxes and trashcans located below the window.

SCORE! You find a lengthy Sturdy Rope among the boxes of construction material labeled “Janitor’s Supplies For Lair Reconstruction”. Guess she put it here after Pekka gave it to her.

You quickly tie the Sturdy Rope to the Hira-shuriken to form an Odd Grappling Hook, and swing it through the window. You hear a distinctive sound that informs you of the success of your attempt.

You begin scaling the wall with the help of the attached rope.

• Write down the key codes you have

You will do so in a moment. First you have to rescue the tied up & gagged Zador from the chair a short walk ahead of you.

You quickly run to him and use the shuriken part of the Odd Grappling Hook to cut the ropes tying Zador to the chair.

While Zador removes the duct tape covering his mouth, you run towards the bomb to inspect it. After a quick check, you determine it not to be timed.

“Thank you for saving me. Things looked bad there for a moment, but I’m glad you had your wits about you. Now come, let’s use the secret tunnels to retreat to the Guest Rooms.”

You follow Zador through the dark, musty tunnels and into Guest Room #5. Before continuing your chat with him, you write down the key codes you know.

“Alright, we’re here. Now, I gave you my key code earlier. Do you still have it?”

You reply with “yes”.

“Have you got any others?”

You show Zador your Key Code List.

“Okay, that’s good. You have half of the six key codes. They are going to be used in an attack on the Remote Lolrus Island. We will first need one key code; any is fine. The next part of the plan requires two new key codes and the last part will need three. We can do the first two parts of the plan, but you’ll need to gather the three remaining key codes to help with the third part of the attack. Unfortunately, the key codes are held by three individuals who are not at Bucketon at the present time. We’ll need to actually get to the Remote Lolrus Island to obtain the key codes. The three key codes you already have should allow you to reach each of the three others as long as they have not been captured by the lolrus.”

• Have a closer look at Tiger Whistle

This whistle seems to be what Aila *might* use to call her tiger to the aid. You wonder if it would allow you to do the same.

• Have a closer look at Torn Map Piece

You inspect the torn piece of map you acquired earlier. It seems to be the lower left part of an old map. You can make out the outline of some building. There is part of a word, cut in half by the map being torn, visible on your map piece. It seems to say “VAL”, but nothing in the piece gives you any hints as to what the remaining part of the word might be.

• Dress up for Halloween

It’s past Halloween. Strange considering you started your quest in early May. It’s early December now… This can’t possibly have taken you 7 months, right? Zador alone would have been tied up & gagged SINCE APRIL, when he disappeared. You hardly think he would have survived for 8 months without something to drink and eat.

• Check your inventory

Time to give your inventory one last look. You aren’t exactly sure why you said that, considering you’re not even nearly done with everything that’s going on.

Your inventory contains The Invitation Letter, Baron’s Keys, Bucketon Map, Bucketon Hero Bucket, Bubket Scanner (equipped), Glass Shard, Soasin Lavendus,  Bucket Hat (equipped), RLI Attack Plans, FA9 Sprocket Trinket, Tiger Whistle, Torn Map Piece, Letter to Pekka, Odd Grappling Hook and Key Code List.

That’s quite a collection of items. Hopefully they’ll be useful on the Remote Lolrus Island.

You inform Zador that you’re ready to leave. He nods and takes out his Quick Transport System Controller. He presses a few buttons on the device and a portal opens up behind him.

“Follow me through the portal once you’re done.”

He smiles, turns around and walks through the portal. You sigh, look around and make a silent promise to come back to deal with all the unfinished business with the robot, JohnPaul, the Baron and the others.

You step through the portal,  and are whisked away to a distant location somewhere…

We interrupt the unannounced month (and some days) long plot hiatus to bring this friendly reminder to all citizens (and non-citizens) of Bucketon!

The annual Bucket Day will be (once again) held on December 19th!

This year the Bucket Faerie will be joined by Bucket Claus as they go around handing out buckets and other bucket-themed presents to all the good individuals around the world.

Simply remember to behave until December 19th to get your gifts!

You leave the hallway in front of ISEEAMONKEY and head to the CAB building. It takes you a moment to locate the correct trashcan, but you manage to retrieve the Letter to Pekka.

You unfold the folded letter and begin reading.

“Dear Pekka, I hope this letter reaches you before the tragic outcome of my full plans is to take place.

Meet me at the Bucket Army HQ on the 23rd of August. Wait for me at the Reception.

I have attached a small trinket in this envelope. Use the code there with 936.

- Baron”

You realize the trinket you found near Pekka is this same trinket. He must have dropped it on the floor… although you never found it on your first search… and the envelope it came in was all the way back in this trashcan…

You connect FA9 and 936 to get the Baron’s key code, FA9-936!

Don’t you mean RLI Attack Plans? In any case, you have a closer look at the plans in question.

You quickly deduce from the sketched map drawn by some scouting robot set to the artistic level of beginner that the plans are for an attack to the Remote Lolrus Island.

The robot has even take the time to title the map accordingly… crappy? Guess you should refer it to as Bat-puter, but you choose not to.

You read the text scribbled all around the plans on which the map has been glued onto. There are various acronyms that you guess are referring to BA HQ departments… Aila, Weepit and Rylon are mentioned, so you assume they’re spearheading the attack.

Hold on, what’s this?

“During the invasion, the fragment must be obtained. Practice your parts and memorize your keycodes any way you can. Perhaps re-use the code somewhere else?”

At the bottom of the page, you find a text saying that the plans are addressed to Aila.

Keycodes… Hmm. Perhaps finding out what they are would be useful on your quest.

• Check Aila’s Locked Metal Box and attempt to open it

You take out Aila’s Locked Metal Box and inspect it. There seems to be a small input screen for digits on the right side of the box. Below it you find pressable buttons for numbers 1-0 and letters A-Z. It would appear that it requires a keycode. Perhaps Aila re-used her invasion code?

• Attempt to communicate with the inhabitant of the ISEEAMONKEY department by using morse code

You travel back to the door to ISEEAMONKEY. You first knock on the door to see if the same mumbling noises will answer. They do.

You sit down on the floor and begin tapping on the door in morse code.

You ask: “Who is in there? Are you alright?”

• Inspect the Strange Trinket

You take out the Strange Trinket and examine it more closely. It’s a round, platinum sprocket of sorts, except it has some weird protruding spikes and three tiny holes. There’s also an engraving that you decipher as saying FA9. Wonder what that means?

Strange Trinket has been renamed to FA9 Sprocket Trinket.

• Feel the terrible presence of the Anti Bucket Faerie

Hah, don’t be silly. She/He/It can’t enter Bucketon.

You start by heading to the Storage Room. Once you locate it near ISEEAMONKEY, you open the door using the Storage Room Key given to you by Pekka.

You enter the larger-than-you-thought storage room. It is full of items and machines of various shapes, sizes and uses.

You check for any materials suitable for the construction of a Bucket Hat. Oh, look! There’s a regular bucket here. You pick it up and turn it upside down.

Voila! Bucket Hat is finished. You immediately start wearing it on your head.

• Visit ISEEAMONKEY and find Momo

You leave the Storage Room and head to ISEEAMONKEY (Important Scheduled Events & Event Administration, Maintaining, Operation ‘N Keeping Events Yearly – department). You try the doorknob… but the door does not open.

You knock on the door. After a few seconds, you hear faint, muffled voices from inside. SOMEONE must be in there and by the sounds of it, they’re not able to talk.

• Visit TDTCSU

You head to the TDTCSU ([Classified] Training & Camellia sinensis use – department) and try the doorknob. The door opens, but you see nobody nor nothing of interest inside.

• Ask Pekka for some Sturdy Rope

You head back to the reception to meet Pekka.

“Hey again! What’s up?”

You explain your need for Sturdy Rope and express you wish to inquire if he has any.

Pekka shakes his head.

“I have none anymore. I gave my only rope to the Janitor, but I haven’t seen her around for days now. Try checking her office?”

• Ask to see the letter Pekka got

“Oh, sorry, but I threw the letter away. It’s probably still in the trashcan outside CAB”

• Picking this useless option does not result in a surpising result

Indeed it doesn’t as surprising is misspelled in that option. However, it *does* result in something surprising!

A strange trinket materializes near you… or did it? Perhaps it was there the whole time and you just missed it on your search for bucket hat materials.

In any case, you pick up the Strange Trinket.

• Visit the Lounge

That is very strange. You don’t see the Lounge door anywhere…

• Visit NTE

You walk to the NTE ([Classified] Training & Espionage) department door and enter the room. There seems to be nobody here. You spot a locked metal box on a table on the other side of the room next to a bunch of papers.

You walk over to them. You pick up Aila’s Locked Metal Box and the RLI Attack Plans.

• Visit BDT

You attempt to enter BDT, but the door is locked. You peek through the windows, but see nothing of interest.

• Visit BAAT

Same as BDT, you see nothing of interest.

You ask JohnPaul (or his robot) for some rope. He (or the robot) takes a moment to think.

“Sure, here you go! Come back soon, I’ll have fixed up the robot.”

JohnPaul is about to hand you the rope when he or his Kacheek malfunctions and starts doing the robot.  Joy.

You attempt to pull the rope out of the robot’s hand, but after a brief struggle, nothing comes out of it. Furiously you reach for your Bubket Scanner.

However, you realize what a mistake it would be and besides… You already broke one robot today.

Guess you’ll need to find another source for some Sturdy Rope.

• Go use the Bubket Scanner on the gargoyle statue

You might as well go see that statue and try the scanner on it now that the scanner is out. Of course, it should have been out the whole time, considering you equipped it as your main weapon. Oh well.

You walk back to the gargoyle statue. Upon arriving, you see the gargoyle statue is back to its original facing… if it had ever even moved in the first place.

Well… here goes nothing!

You press some buttons on your scanner and blast the statue while closing your eyes. Loud sounds follow and you could swear some shrieking was included…

You open your eyes.

There is no statue. Expecting to see statue pieces on the ground, you look down. . .

THERE ARE NONE.

AAAAAAH.

The statue is gone, but it’s not in pieces!

. . . . . . . .

Guess you weren’t imagining that moving thing anyhow. Heh heh.

You should probably get out of here. . . NOW.

• It’s hightime you get some armour. Go check the Bucket Army Headquarters for some

You wa – you run to the Bucket Army HQ to find some armour to protect yourself with. Entering the reception, you see someone sitting at the desk. You approach them.

Oh, it’s Pekka. Wait, what is *he* doing here?

“Hey there! You’re probably wondering why I’m here… Well, it’s a funny story. I found this silly letter from the Baron. It said I should meet him at the HQ here and to wait at the Reception. So, here I am. Oh… That wasn’t a funny story. Oh well. So, what brings you here?”

You explain what has been happening.

“Oh, I see. So the Baron stood you up. Then again, he didn’t… since you’re the one wandering around instead of trying to see if he’s at his own room or something. In any case, my letter was dated August 22nd, so he’s clearly still around Bucketon somewhere. I think. Well, that doesn’t matter right now. I’m good at waiting in front of desks for long periods of time. In fact, that was a job requirement.

• List people you would most likely be able to meet at this point since strangely you’ve only met Pekka and JohnPaul recently, everyone else has only been mentioned or has not been present in locations they should have been

You decide to take this chance to make a little list.

You list the names of JohnPaul and Pekka as certain and list Momo, the Baron and the Janitor as individuals you’d be likely to meet in places you expect.

• Go find and talk to Pekka

You ask Pekka for some.

“Sorry, I don’t have any. But there’s a little storage room near ISEEAMONKEY. Here, take the key!”

Pekka gives you Storage Room Key.

You go stand in the suspicious ??? area on your map. Nothing seems to be there apart from a freaky stone gargoyle that stands on a silver pedestal. You look at the gargoyle, but it doesn’t seem to be a living creature. Just to make sure, you tap it on the shoulder. It does not move.

• Go to the… WAIT! Did you see that? Something clearly just moved behind you!

You turn to leave, but notice movement behind you. You quickly turn around, but see nothing. Funny, you could have sworn -

OH NO

The gargoyle is *clearly* facing more to the left than before…

Or you’re just scared and paranoid…

Just to be safe though… RUN

• Water the plant (Soasin Lavendus)

Before you do that, you water the plant while looking at the gargoyle to make sure it does not budge… if it was it at all that moved. Gosh, just stop thinking about it already! Your creepy thoughts are very unnerving.

Your rare Soasing Lavendus does nothing when watered. Oh well.

• Visit the Dark Cave hidden beneath Kitten District

You travel to the Kitten District north of your current location. You make sure to turn around occassionally to make sure that gargoyle thing is not following. If it even can. You hope it can’t. But *if* it *could*. You’re just being careful.

You arrive at the Kitten District, but see no Suzuka so you just go ahead and locate the trapdoor that led you down to the Dark Cave where Steve was once held captive, then found by you and still left in that dark place until he was eventually rescued later on by the Bucket Army when it was deemed safe to do so.  For Bucketon, not Steve.

You look in your backpack, but see nothing that would be useful as a rope-like item. Guess you’re not going down there just yet.

• Visit The JohnPaul Natural Habitat for Sockos (formerly Lair of JohnPaul) and deliver the Socko

Well, it’s about time to return the Socko, isn’t it?

You head west, to The JohnPaul Natural Habitat for Sockos. As you approach, you see someone awaiting for you.

It’s JohnPaul himself… or a Robot Kacheek he uses to communicate with others when he’s too busy to meet in person? You’re not completely sure.

“The Sockos are getting antsy… we were planning on opening up the adoptions to the general public, but with the whole “Wand is stolen” thing and the discovery of a somewhat-mysterious-arcane-and-powerful-bucket that is currently being studied but seems to be of no importance at the moment, we just haven’t been able to.”

You nod and hand over the Socko after removing it from your backpack.

“Hey, thanks for returning this little guy! Wait a minute… this Socko is the Bucket Faerie’s Socko!!! I hope he’s alright… I even had a gift for him!”

You ask JohnPaul if he’s opening adoptions again after this mess is cleared.

“I just hope this place doesn’t blow up again before that…”

Suddendly you notice movement behind you… AGAIN. You turn around, but see nothing. JohnPaul, on the other hand, is pointing at something small approaching.

“Hey, that robot looks cute! I recognize the tech!”

You look at the approaching thing and recognize the Seeker Bot. It must have activated some kind of following mechanism and arrived here… Perhaps it was following you all along (instead of some scary animated stone gargoyle) and simply did not notice it due to its small size.

You turn towards JohnPaul and explain that the robot is yours.

“He seems a little messed up though, why don’t you leave him here with me? I’ll fix up his voice box.”

You thank JohnPaul for his help.

You are standing next to Seeker Bot Class IV ID 3718-4BY, whose scanner is still pointing to the 3rd floor. Now it is time for crucial actions… What will you do?

• Arm yourself for any confrontations that may occur

You look around the room, but find nothing to arm yourself with. Then it occurs to you that your Bubket Scanner should do some damage… at least to robots. You arm yourself with it.

• Visit the kitchen

You consider for a moment the action of blasting the Seeker Bot with the scanner, but your consideration of the consequences is interrupted by a rumbling sound coming from your belly. You are obviously hungry.

To the kitchen!

You leave Seeker Bot in the hall and check out the kitchen, immediately spotting a plate full of chicken wings, potatoes, salad, some steak and a slice of buttered bread.

Your belly demands food a second time, so you rush to feast ignoring any fears of poisoned food. Of course with the lack of any food tasters around, you don’t have much choice. Who knows, if you faint from this, you can always get a medal… even if only posthumously.

After you’re done eating, you feel no ill effects and return to the hall.

• Visit the two separate balconies on the 2nd floor

You walk up the left stairs first and enter the balcony. The door leading to the left wing of this part of the 2nd floor is locked, so you simply examine the balcony, but find nothing.

You walk up the right stairs next. The door here is also locked. Examining the balcony itself, you discover two muddy footprints in front of the door, facing the hall. Whoever left this print exited the right wing. Strangely the footprints end here, so you assume whoever left them wiped his feet after reaching the balcony.

• Ask the robot about The Unknown Potted Plant

You return to the hall, where the Seeker Bot has patiently awaited. You decide now is the time to ask it some questions and you do so, starting with showing it The Unknown Potted Plant, inquiring to its identity.

The Seeker Bot examines the plant by scanning it and comes to a conclusion…

“This is a rare Soasin Lavendus plant. There are only three known plants of this kind, all created by magic. This specific plant belongs to… the Bucket Faerie.”

The Unknown Potted Plant has been renamed as the Soasin Lavendus.

• Ask the robot about the Unknown Sock Thingy

“That is a Socko. It should probably be taken to the Natural Habitat maintained by JohnPaul at the location where JohnPaul’s Lair once stood.”

The Unknown Sock Thingy has been renamed as the Socko.

• Ask the robot about the Glass Shard

“That thing is a magical device capable of creating and controlling secret passages, caches, compartments and portals. It can create one of each… My scanning indicates it has created a cache, a passage and a portal. Each of these is opened by an individual key… You have two of these keys. One for the cache and one for the passage.”

“There are seven keys in that set that Baron von Bucket the 1st gave you. Only three of them were originally his. He has obtained four of them at a later date, one a day prior to giving them to you.”

• Use the Bubket Scanner on Seeker Bot Class IV ID 3718-4BY

You point the Bubket Scanner at the Seeker Bot and blast it. A beam of energy bursts out of the scanner and hits the Seeker Bot in the cranium resulting in a loud crackling noise followed by the robot shutting down.

Suddendly it springs back to life and looks at you with no visible marks on its head from the blast.

• Take the grand staircase at the north end of the hall and start searching the 3rd floor for the robot’s “Master”

You ask the robot if it would like to head to the 3rd floor to look for Master now. The robot gives no response, so you simply have a look at its scanner unit.

Oh no!

The whole scanner is broken beyound repair as a result of your stupid usage of the Bubket Scanner. Now you only know that Master resides at the 3rd floor, but will be unable to pinpoint his exact location in there using the scanner.

• Ask the robot about the Bucketon Hero Bucket

You decide to continue by asking about the Bucketon Hero Bucket you carry around.

“….xzxxarl….axzxazltr…zxzxzx…zxzxcxvzx…”

The robot is no longer capable of any recognizable speech as a result of the scanner blast. Great going!

• Ask the robot about the Bubket Scanner

You fail to see any point in doing so…

but you do apologize for the robot, hoping it understands.

• Return to the front courtyard

You leave the robot in the hall and exit to the Front Courtyard. Nothing has changed here, except the smell of Soasin Lavendus is no longer wafting through the air.

• Exit through the front gates to Bucketon itself

You exit through the Front Gates to Bucketon proper.

You pull out the grossly outdated Bucketon Map that the Janitor had at one point began to make before it was handed to you by Weepit (whose alter ego the Janitor turned out to be).

What should you do? Choose up to 5 options.

• Return to the castle
• Visit The JohnPaul Natural Habitat for Sockos (formerly Lair of JohnPaul) and deliver the Socko
• Visit Kitten District
• Visit the Dark Cave hidden beneath Kitten District
• Visit the Bucket Army Headquarters (Reception)
• Visit the Portal to Lost Desert
• Visit the “Bucketon Applications, Certificates and Keys” Building
• Go check out the lower left ??? building on the map
• Go check out the upper right ??? building on the map
• Go stand at the part of the map where the ??? are on the open area south of the Natural Habitat and Kitten District
• Water the plant (Soasin Lavendus)
  
• Go to the… WAIT! Did you see that? Something clearly just moved behind you!
  

The Seeker Bot Class IV ID 3718-4BY is still hovering in the air in front of you, awaiting for you to make up your mind.

You have decided to aid the small robot and inform it of your decision.

“Thank you very much. I do not know where Master would be after all this time, but I expect to be able to track him down using my built in scanner system. All you need to do is search the locations it pinpoints as I lack certain appendages to do so… among other things.”

• Wonder why the robot is so small that its buttons and other features are hard to make out

“Oh, I should have explained that immediately. I am not meant to be this small as you could probably figure out. I am quite a lot larger than this, but whoever imprisoned me here also shrunk me down in size. Hopefully Master will be able to unshrink me once we find him. Now come, we must search for Master.”

The robot exits the room and you follow it. The built in scanner system of the robot points to a location somewhere on the 3rd floor, which can be accessed through a grand staircase at the north end of the hall. Other locations include the stairs on opposite sides of the hall that lead up to two separate balconies on the 2nd floor, two doorways on either side of the grand staircase take you to the kitchen, a door to the left takes you to the Seeker Bot room (aka where you just were) and a door to the right leads you to the “garden” outside. And of course, the giant doors to the south lead to the front courtyard, which in turn leads to the front gates that will allow you to pass through to Bucketon itself.

You try the first key. It does not work.

The second key is also useless.

Third one… you hear a click signaling something opening. How cliché. Third time’s the charm…

Behind you, a small cache opens up in the wall. Something emerges instantly from the small space and hovers in front of you. It appears to be a small robot of some kind.

“Initialising… connecting… success. Connection established. Surveying surroundings… Target acquired…. Scanning… Scanning… Target identified.”

You nervously swallow and wave at the tiny robot.

“Hello, I am Seeker Bot Class IV ID 3718-4BY. Thank you for releasing me.”

You assure the robot that it was no problem, quickly demonstrating how you picked up the glass shard and tried three keys on it to open the small cache. On second thought, assuring the robot that you basically got lucky probably doesn’t help in gaining its admiration… not that you were looking for any, of course.

“I see. Have you seen my Master around?”

You ask the robot to identify its master.

“You are not him, but he is of your species. I last saw him five liztoks ago.”

You ask the robot to define liztok.

“It is a period of time. Approximately 500 years by your count.”

You note that that is a long time for a human being to survive.

“Yet I feel he is still alive and somewhere in this castle. Tell me, can you help me find him?”

You think for a moment. A strange robot locked in a small space inside a wall for 500 years asks you to find his master in a castle that has clearly not existed for 500 years. Who knows what this robot has done to be stuffed in that tight cache. Also, robots 500 years ago? What if this is just some ploy by Steve… or the Anti-Bucket Faerie… or some other evil?

Think carefully, the next course of action is crucial!

• Ride the chair like a mechanical bull

You do so. You put on the show of a life time riding that chair as if it were a mechanical bull. You survive two rounds before the chair inevitably throws you off its back.

You fail…

Also, congratulations on destroying what was left of your credibility in front of the crazy killer robot. It will surely spare you when it conquers the world with its immortal master.

Of course, it *could* just be an innocent robot that is actually looking for its kind master. You really can’t be sure.

Are you honestly *trying* to make yourself look like a fool?

First of all, you are far away from the cave.

Second, you are not sure how to form a proper pile out of three small items.

Third… it does actually sound fun. You take a moment to imagine it all happening…

• Wonder where Steve is nowadays

You start by wondering where Steve is and what he’s been up to for the past 4 months and 2 days. The Baron kicked him out since his temporary citizenship ran out while the Applitron had him captive. Sort of a mean thing to do, but Steve really *was* an enemy of Bucketon so even having him here was a risky thing. He’s probably been spreading propaganda about buckets being evil ever since, using cheap photoshopped images of slave kittens carrying buckets around. Of course, some choose to believe his lies but true bucket lovers and believers can see past the thin veil of jealousy that clearly attribute to his bitter words of hate. He’s probably been crying too. A lot. Probably in some dark room in a cellar that reminds him of the Dark Cave he spent a month and some days in. Not sure why he’d be drawn to such a place, but then again… he never was sane to begin with.

In any case, you’re sure you won’t be meeting him again. Uh huh, positive. No chance he’ll pop up somewhere in an event that seems completely pointless at the time but will in the end help unravel something strange and huge that could possibly affect the outcome of what you’re currently doing. Nope, no chance whatsoever. You sure are glad to know that.

• Put Glass Shard in your backpack and then examine it

You pick up the Glass Shard and look at it. The falcon image embedded in it is quite a majestic looking bird. The shard is also surprisingly clean, implying it hasn’t been on the floor for very long… Perhaps whoever was here before you left it here…

Oh, that’s funny. There’s a tiny keyhole in the falcon’s right eye.
